Social media user, Lerato Shabalala, shared a touching story about a security guard who went out of his way to ensure her safety. The conscientious man works at her campus and refused to let her walk back to her residence alone late one night.
After playfully shouting at her because she didn’t ask him to help her cross the road, the kind-hearted man walked her home. He shared that he has three daughters and instinctively felt the need to ensure Lerato’s safety.
He added that his daughters was the reason he was working and that inspired him to care for the students' well-being, Briefly.co.za discovered.

Lerato said she was planning on buying him a 2-litre Coke for his kind deed. He joked that he wanted “strictly Coke mntanami”.
Social media users applauded his dedication and bubbly personality and felt that he was a good man for treating every young woman as though she was his daughter.
Many users commented that he was being more of a father than a security guard and said they respected hard-working people who go the extra mile for other people’s safety.
One Twitter user, Meghan, said that she probably wouldn’t have trusted him to walk her home considering crime is so rife even in seemingly innocent situations, but expressed her relief and gratitude that there are still good men in the world.
Another user, who is also a security guard, appreciated that Lerato took the time to acknowledge the work that security guards do and wanted to show his respect to the kind guard at Lerato's campus.
