EFF MP kicked out of Parliament after slamming journalist Karima Brown

An EFF politician was told to leave Parliament after slamming journalist Karima Brown.

EFF MP Hlengiwe Mkhaliphi was disputing a point of order raised by a representative who was defending Brown.

Mkhaliphi doubled down on Julius Malema's characterisation of Brown as an infiltrator.

"We must not protect Brown here," Mkhaliphi said.

As a result, the speaker instructed Mkhaliphi to leave.

This follows Julius Malema causing a stir on social media after he lashed out at Brown in relation to a WhatsApp message that Brown accidentally sent in a group, including EFF members.

The EFF leader then shared Brown's personal phone number and hit out at other journalists. Many took to social media to condemn Malema's comments, with SANEF deeming this an assault on media freedom.
