- Lindelani Shezi was the motorist who was involved in the incident and shared video footage via social media
Briefly.co.za previously reported on the motorist who filmed four traffic officers trying to solicit a bribe.
The four cops were caught on camera as they reacted angrily to the motorist, Lindelani Shezi.
Shezi filmed the incident and shared the footage and a description of how he was assaulted via social media.
Despite a strong reaction from South Africans and authorities, the officers have recently returned to work.
Pat Ngomane, Mpumalanga Community Safety MEC, revealed the men were initially suspended but that he reinstated them in February.
TimesLIVE reported that Ngomane’s office said, "The four officers resumed work on February 20, 2019 after the completion of an internal investigation by the department into the matter."
Briefly.co.za understands that three officers escaped with a warning and the fourth is set to still have a disciplinary hearing.
