Producer and long-time collaborator of Rebecca Malope, Sizwe Zako claims the gospel singer owes him money.

Apparently, Rebecca is yet to pay Sizwe the agreed-upon R20 000 for the 4 songs they worked on together for her Easter album.

SowetanLIVE reports that Sizwe is stressed because he can't pay his sound engineer because he wasn't paid himself.

Briefly.co.za learnt that Sizwe was approached by Rebecca to contribute to her album, and he helped her save on costs by suggesting they use his home studio, which is located in Midrand.

Sizwe said they recorded the music over two days in the first week of February. Now that the time has come to pay him, Rebecca is allegedly avoiding Sizwe.

Last time we spoke she said she needed two more songs from me. When Senzo Meyiwa and Lundi Tyamara died I wrote songs for her to sing at their funerals.
She wanted us to include those songs in the upcoming album because people were calling for the songs to be recorded.

Sizwe added that they also recorded in another studio with Soweto Gospel Choir for four days and that he paid for it out of his own pocket.

The 60-year-old says he doesn't know what went wrong that would cause Rebecca to avoid paying him his due.

For the years that we worked together our working relationship has been a success as the whole country knows.I don't know what got into her. There has never been a big fight.

However, according to Rebecca's daughter, Noluthando Malope, that's not the whole story. She insists that the project is still ongoing.
