Video shows panga-wielding taxi driver: "This country must be closed"

- South Africans were stunned after a video went viral which showed a motorist and taxi driver in a verbal and physical disagreement

- The taxi driver was caught on video holding a panga out of his window as he threatened the motorist

- Social media users found the video concerning and added that they were fed up with taxi drivers' behaviour

On Thursday, South Africa Live posted the video on social media which showed an altercation between a taxi driver and a motorist who were having a go at each other.

Briefly.co.za gathered the taxi driver allegedly drove illegally on the side of the road and then tried to cut in front of the other car.

However, the man did not want to make way for the lawless taxi driver and it resulted in the taxi driver shouting at the motorist through his window.

The taxi driver then takes out a panga and wields it around before blocking off the man and confronting him face-to-face.

The video went viral, reaching more than 154,000 views in just 20 hours. South Africans explained they were sick of the taxi drivers' lawlessness.

Dalene Henry commented: "My word. These guys really think that they can do whatever they want ob the roads!!!"
Aidan Taylor added: "People are gatvol. Something needs to be done!!! But then again look at what’s running our beloved country."
Shiwawa Mkhonto wrote: "this country must be closed."
