A report has confirmed that the bullets that killed Sadia Sukhraj came from a firearm belonging to her father.
Sadia was shot twice in the chest during an attempted hijacking that took place last year.
Sadia's father, Shailendra Sukhraj, also shot and killed the alleged hijacker, Siyabonga Balose, according to IOL.
Sukhraj reportedly fired at the car as the hijackers drove away with it in an attempt to stop them. His daughter was in the vehicle at the time and this was when she was shot.
The prosecution in the case has argued that knew that his actions could have consequences and, as a result, he should be held accountable for Sadia's death.
A legal expert, however, has said that a judge will need to decide whether Sukhraj acted in self-defence or if he was negligent.
