The Gangstar Café employs ex-offenders hoping to provide an alternative way to earning a living rather than returning to a life of crime and gangsterism. The café, which is located in Durbanville, is giving disenfranchised youths an opportunity to set their lives on the right track and a second chance at a fulfilling life.

The café also uses its profits to help the community by providing support to the youth who are determined to leave a life of poverty and violence behind. It offers previous offenders a stable work environment and increases their self-worth.
