The ANC recently conducted an internal poll, which showed that the party’s white voter pool is at an all-time high.
The survey took place towards the end of last year and included over 3000 Gauteng residents.
The current ruling party found that white voter support for the ANC is currently at 8%, TimesLIVE reported.
This is the highest that this percentage has ever been, even when compared to the years when the ANC was in power with Nelson Mandela at the helm.
The poll also showed that as much as 23% of the Gauteng residents who took part in the survey plan on voting for the ANC.
Briefly.co.za gathered that Gauteng premier, David Makhura, attributed this growth to Cyril Ramaphosa’s popularity with white South Africans.
The survey places current ANC support in Gauteng province at just over 50%.
