Confirmation has been received from Ethiopian officials that the Ethiopian Airlines crash that occurred this morning has claimed the lives of 157 people.
According to The Citizen, the Boeing 747 was making a trip from Addis Ababa to Nairobi when it went down.
A total of 149 passengers and 8 crew members were onboard and all have been subsequently confirmed dead.

These 157 people hailed from 33 different nations.
Briefly.co.za discovered that operators lost connection with the Ethiopian Airlines plane less than 10 minutes into the flight.
The airplane crashed in Bishoftu, close to Ethiopia’s capital, Addis Ababa.
