SA couple marries in hospital after groom shot in armed robbery

A couple tied the knot in a Cape Town hospital after the groom was shot during a robbery in his home the night before.

Muneer Hercules and Maryam Kallie said 'I do' at the Melomed Gatesville Hospital on Sunday. Hercules was rushed to the hospital after he sustained injuries during an armed robbery at home on 9 March.

However, the couple did not let the incident stop their special day and they held their Nikkah, a Muslim wedding ceremony, at the hospital.

"This morning, Muneer Hercules and Maryam Kallies performed their nikkah in front of family and friends at Melomed Gatesville Hospital. Muneer was attacked at his home last night during an alleged robbery and was rushed to hospital."
"Thanks to the management and staff of Melomed Gatesville, the couple were able to perform their nuptials, alhamdullilah!"
