- A family has accused Prophet Shepherd Bushiri of fathering a child out of wedlock
- According to the baby mama's relatives, she fell in love with Major One when she was just a teenager
- However, after she allegedly fell pregnant with his child, Bushiri reportedly tried to convince her to get an abortion
According to a family, who chose to remain anonymous to protect the identity of the mother and child, Prophet Shepherd Bushiri has a hidden 'lovechild'.
On Monday, News24 reported a family opened up about an alleged child Major One fathered. Bushiri allegedly had a romantic relationship with a teenage girl prior to marrying his wife in 2011.
She was allegedly in love with the controversial prophet and their romance led to a pregnancy - one Bushiri reportedly wanted to end.
Her family revealed the pastor allegedly tried to "bribe" her with R1 500 in an attempt to convince her to get an abortion.
Three family members now want Bushiri to acknowledge that he is the father of the seven-year-old girl.
"As a family, we are challenging Bushiri to do a paternity test publicly because we are confident he is the father. The daughter is the spitting image of Bushiri and it is widely known in the district that he is the biological father,” one of the family members said.
Briefly.co.za gathered Major One's alleged baby mama is now married to someone else but she feels it is time for Bushiri to step up and be a dad.
According to the report, the family kept the baby a secret out of fear, but the entire community knows about her alleged relationship with Bushiri.
A family member revealed the mother does not care about his wealth since she fell in love with Bushiri when he was "young and poor."
However, she does believe that Bushiri should take care of his alleged daughter emotionally and financially.
"She also wants her daughter to attend the best schools, just like her father’s other children,” the family member said.
The child was allegedly born in 2011, right before Bushiri tied the knot to his wife, Mary. Bushiri allegedly told the family at the time that he is not refusing to be a father, but if people found out it would destroy his ministry.
Bushiri allegedly promised to pay child support but he failed to do so, and now the family wants him to admit being the child's dad and to support the child.
