A recent social media post caused quite a stir in Mzansi, where a woman asked why most men seemed to be fearful of “financially stable women” and “women with cars”.
Statistically, women will often be earning less than men in SA, as recent statistics have shown that Mzansi’s female workforce earns a massive 27% less than our country’s men, Marie Claire reported.
However, what this local woman wanted to know is, when women close that gap, or are blatantly financially independent, why do Mzansi’s men freak out?

Briefly.co.za found out that many men explained that they felt disrespected or ashamed when their female partner took the financial reins:
Some were just not sure how to please a woman who ‘has it all’:
While some of Mzansi’s men claimed that they would be excited to meet these independent women…but were not sure where to find them.
Briefly.co.za also found that some of the women who had their say on the matter said that these men who were put off by these financially independent women should check themselves and realign their thoughts on the matter.
A couple introspective men did some real thinking and wondered if there were some more, deeper reasons for this seemingly irrational fear.
