Debbie sustained injuries when she was flung 30 metres out of her vehicle after another car made an hurried turn and cut her off, reported News24. Debbie was in the hospital for a little longer than two weeks.
She and her fiancé, Kruger Crause, had planned to get married at the end of February but had to delay the ceremony because of the accident.
Although the accident delayed their plans, the happy couple have set a new date for the wedding with the help of their kind-hearted community.
Lindie van Niekerk and Jeanne Jacobs run a restaurant in the area and wanted to help the couple out after discovering that financial issues were standing in the way of them tying the knot. They decided to let the couple use their restaurant for the intimate ceremony.
They also helped find sponsors for flowers, photography and other wedding services.
The wedding is now set for the end of March.
