- A child has died after being tied up and having rocks thrown at him
- His attackers were reportedly two boys who were 7 and 8 years old
- Police say they are looking for witnesses as well as one suspect
A 3-year-old boy was reportedly killed while playing in a dumping site in Primrose, Germiston.
According to police, the boy was killed by two other children who were 7 and 8 years old.
They allegedly tied the toddler up and pushed him down a slope, repeatedly pelting him with stones and rocks.
The boys have since confessed to the crime. They have said that they pushed the child down the slope of the dumpsite, and when they slid down after him they noticed that he was not moving and that he had a wound on his head.
They then tried to wake the child, but he was apparently unresponsive. At this point the boys fled the scene, leaving the toddler's body behind.
Police have said that they are looking into the matter and are trying to gather more information. Additionally, they have said they are looking for witnesses and are reportedly tracking down one other potential suspect.
This is the latest in a string of deaths as a result of violence on children by other children. The most high-profile case currently is the murder of Thoriso Themane.
