Gauteng Education MEC, Panyaza Lesufi, visited Crystal Park High School on the East Rand on Monday, where he spoke about the shocking assault video that was filmed there last week.
Panyaza Lefusi addressed the Crystal Park High School pupils on 11 March, when he described the violent attack on a fellow learner as 'attempted murder'.
His visit followed a video that went viral last week, which showed several learners attacking a young girl at the school.
Briefly.co.za gathered the video was widely-shared on social media and it sparked outrage among South Africans.
One of the social media users who shared the video was the MEC himself.
On Friday, Lesufi posted the video on his Twitter page, vowing to pay the school a visit.
"Another madness, this time from a school @Ekurhuleni. First thing on Monday they have ‘date’ with me! I wish the little girl a speedy recovery. As for other girls, they will regret it! #endTheMadness," Lesufi captioned the video.

The brutality of the video is shocking to say the least. According to eNCA, the assaulted pupil's father and aunt said the video broke their hearts.
They added that their priority now is to protect the young girl and focus on her emotional well-being. The child's father revealed his daughter would start the next term in a new school.
