Briefly.co.za discovered that the ANC has since spoken up about the fake billboard, dubbing it 'malicious propaganda.'
ANC national media spokesperson, Dakota Legoete, said the billboard is superficial and "lacks substance, because it does not represent the ANC’s policies".
He added that the ANC is a "non-racial party" that focuses on unity among all nationalities.

Legoete also revealed the ANC does not campaign in neighbouring African countries.
“To put up posters in another country would mean to undermine the sovereignty of that country and its political leaders," he said.
The majority of social media users could see the billboard was fake and they slammed the creator of the photoshopped image.
Rosemary Hardy, who goes by the Twitter handle @Rosemary_Hardy, commented: "find who is responsible for this board and arrest them, small children can read it, it fearful and causes distress unless u agree ANC."
Olbert Nyathi, @Revai_07573, added: "Meaningless though inciting violence ,I hate this."
