Last night was the official and first public airing of the Comedy Central Roast of rapper AKA. The public had a lot to say about it and did a little AKA roasting of their own.
The roast took place live just two weeks ago and the people of Mzansi had been waiting patiently for its TV debut.
Briefly.co.za gathered that the roast brought a lot of laughter to those who were watching, but it also caused for some spicy comments.
Social media was buzzing through the airing and viewers were not shy in sharing their honest opinions.
A few fans were really ticked off about the fact that AKA had a opera choir singing one of his songs for the opening. They felt that he was unoriginal and had copied Kanye West.
Out of all of the panel members, Papa Penny seemed to win the heart of viewers. The man’s script was so unscripted that it made it even funnier. Viewers loved what Pappa Penny had to say.
Pearl Thusi also went down really well with viewers. The gorgeous actress showed a side of herself that not many had seen before, and they were impressed.
Aside from a few haters and some opinionated comments, the Roast was a hit. Fans felt that it was ‘the best South African Roast’ that they had seen and that the panel were on form.
