- Ramaphosa met with Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa for the binational commission on Tuesday
- Social media users reacted to the post and showed their skepticism as they questioned the merits of Mnangagwa
President Cyril Ramaphosa shared a tweet which showed the hero’s welcome he received when he touched down in Zimbabwe recently.
The short video shows Ramaphosa being greeted by a host of political leaders, while a traditional band performs in the background.
Ramaphosa’s visit was due to the binational commission, which saw him meet with his Zimbabwean counterpart, Emmerson Mnangagwa, on Tuesday.
Various issues were addressed, including trade between the two nations.
Mnangagwa shared a similar tweet as well, sharing his joy at Ramaphosa’s arrival.
However, not everyone was impressed as social media users were quick to air their views on the matter.
Numerous Zimbabwean social media users criticised their president and his political party.
A big bone of contention is the continuous reference to the fight against colonialism and oppression, as many feel it detracts from addressing the current issues.
