David Beckham was the victim of a finely-executed prank by his friend, James Corden, host of The Late Late Show, which took him almost two months to plan.

Beckham was attending the unveiling of a stature made in honour of his service to his former MLS football team, LA Galaxy, when Corden pounced on the opportunity to have a go at fooling Beckham.

According to CNN, the cheeky plot came to mind when word of Beckham not having seen the statue reached Corden, and he proceeded to hire a crew to make his own quaky caricature of the Englishman.

Corden's goofy statue of Beckham had the Manchester United legend sporting an extraordinarily broader-than-life chin, zombie-like eyes and a petite behind.

Beckham's reaction to seeing the statue was truly priceless and worth all the effort.

"It's slightly different that what it was when i saw it in Chicago," he observed with shock in his eyes.
"I mean, look at my chin. It doesn't really look nothing like me. I mean, look at my eyes. The only thing that's good is that hair an that's about it. I really don't see how this can go out," Beckham went on.
