It was in March 2018 that Mzansi was gifted with the powers of Spotify. In celebration of their first anniversary in South Africa, Spotify shared its top streamed artists and Black Coffee, AKA and Nasty C came out on top.

Spotify is the largest global music streaming service available. Having Spoity come to SA gave local artists a new platform to share their music as well as make it a whole lot easier for the public to hear it.

Briefly.co.za learnt that Nasty C was the most streamed local artist in Mzansi with Black Coffee coming in second and AKA in third.

Black Coffee, as always, knocked it out of the park. Not only did his track Drive with David Guetta, featuring Delilah Montagu, come in at number one on the top 10 local tracks streamed on Spotify SA, it has also been streamed over 25 million times just on Spotify, worldwide. What a wow!

Mzansi’s Supa Mega was not far behind the insanely-talented Black Coffee in third place. His track, Fela In Versace also came in third on the top 10 local tracks streamed on Spotify SA.
