South Africans were left fuming over a video of municipal workers dumping trash back into a resident's yard as they cleaned the streets.

On Tuesday, South Africa Live shared a video of two municipal workers dumping garbage back into a yard as they cleaned up streets in Pietermaritzburg.

"What to say, municipality cleaning the streets in PMB after waste department strike," the video was captioned.

Briefly.co.za gathered some social media users felt the workers did nothing wrong and that the resident deserved getting back all the trash.

Hassan Cisman wrote: "she is absolutely right to do so keep going my sister. they must put that s**t in their bin."
Vincent DaVi added, "Big up to the municipal worker .... how lazy can you be ? and throw stuff in the street expecting them to clean - that’s illegal dumping."

However, others pointed out it was the ladies' job to pick up the garbage.

Ntosh Ndlovu commented: "We pay for levies, how is government financial problems our problem."
Judy Basson wrote: "And then they want to tax expats.... FOR WHAT EXACTLY????"
Betsie Pretorius added: "Give their job to people who realy need it and whant to work."
Harry Smuts said, "So wrong, this bag could’ve been torn by dogs, the informal recyclers could’ve dumped it (there is a bag in the first lot she picks up)"
