DJ Fisherman stands by his comments on the Mampintsha debacle despite the heavy backlash that has followed. The musician said that muting Mampintsha’s music would not be ideal because innocent people would suffer.
Yesterday, Briefly.co.za reported that the deejay released a statement explaining why it was harmful to mute Mampintsha’s music.
In the lengthy statement, the muso said that Mampintsha was responsible for the financial stability of many people who would be negatively affected if his music was banned.

Fisherman has a song with Mampintsha as part of his upcoming project and has had to pull the track since Mampintsha’s arrest.
Social media users were disgusted by his comments and many said that he cares more about money than defending women. He has since responded by saying that he was misunderstood. He says that a man should not be given the power to destroy the lives of others. He maintains that Mampintsha should be punished as an individual.
He added that more needs to be done by the government to protect musicians in the industry.
