The much-anticipated Roast of AKA is over and done with, and Somizi feels that it was rather disappointing. According to the entertainer, his own Roast was better, and many of his fans agree with him.
Comedy Central's Roast of AKA finally aired after much anticipation, but not everyone was impressed with it.
Local entertainer, Somizi, wasn't impressed with the roast at all and feels his was much better.
While AKA was roasted for everything from his name to his feud with fellow rapper, Cassper Nyovest, Somizi felt the roasters didn't go in deep or low enough.
TimesLIVE reported that Somizi was talking on Metro FM's The Fresh Breakfast when he frankly said what he thought of AKA's roast.
"I realised what the problem was. The problem was with my Roast, the standard was so high. It was high because of the panel. I don't know how they did it but they did it right."
Briefly.co.za learnt that Somizi is convinced that certain topics were off-limits during AKA's roast, and that made it boring.
"Yes they touched on some topics but they didn't go there.
"He probably said you are not going to speak about Bonang. You're not going to speak about Zinhle. You're not going to speak about ABC. This left nothing to Roast. It was a toast."
Many South Africans agreed on social media that AKA's Roast didn't meet the standard that Somizi's had set:
