Never in her wildest dreams did Juanita Khumalo think that she would grace the covers of a popular magazine. Nevertheless, Nita, as she is affectionately called, appeared on the cover of Fit Life Magazine’s April edition.
Nita, a young woman from Kimberly, the city of diamonds, says she cried when she heard the news that she would feature in the magazine, sharing her story about how fitness and healthy living transformed her life.
This is an exciting time for Nita, who is launching a fitness and wellness podcast in the coming week. Her channel will focus on nutrition, spirituality and mental wellness.
“I am super excited and nervous about it,” Nita writes. “I’ve been working on it for a while. I cannot wait.”
Nita’s fitness journey began in September 2017. At the time, she was overweight and suffering from depression and anxiety - the result of a toxic relationship. She had recently lost her grandmother and her cousin and struggled to cope with all of the curve balls thrown at her, Briefly.co.za gathered.
“it was a really rough period, all I wanted was an outlet to cope and maintain my sanity. To stay alive.”
Two years later, Nita is doing better than ever, thanks to God’s grace and a drastic change in her lifestyle.
Now, Nita hopes her story and success will inspire and motivate others to make the changes they needed to improve their lives.
Nita is also an entrepreneur and founded Trove Wellness, a health and wellness website which is dedicated to providing a holistic approach to leading a healthy lifestyle.
