Actress Thembisa Mdoda has stepped forward to have her say about Gugu Ncube’s arrest. Thembisa highlighted that many women are suffering in silence and that it should not have to be like that.

Gugu was arrested on Wednesday for public indecency after she led a naked protest in front of the Union Buildings in Pretoria.

Briefly.co.za learnt that Gugu was protesting against sexual harassment and how men are protected from facing up to their wrongdoings.

Thembisa stepped forward after a video of Gugu being forcefully removed by police went public. She said, "What happened/is happening to Gugu Ncube is despicable”, and that there are a lot more women like Gugu out there who have been suffering in silence.

YFM's DJ Zan D and poet, Ntsiki Mazwai, are just a few of the other Mzansi celebs who are completely outraged by the way Gugu has been treated.

On Thursday, Gugu appeared in the Pretoria Magistrate's Court. A Twitter account in her name apparently told followers that she intends on pleading not guilty.

It is said that her case has been postponed until April.
