Zoleka Mandela opens up about cancer scare at start of the year

Zoleka Mandela recently gave birth to her fifth little bundle of joy, but everything hasn't been smiles and happiness for her recently. At the start of the year, she found two lumps in her body and went through a cancer scare.

Zoleka Mandela became the mom to a little princess earlier this year and is very proud of her baby girl.

However, the year hasn't been only rainbows and sunshine for our girl.

She found two lumps in her armpit and it was feared that she had breast cancer, more likely because she had defeated that demon before, as reported on by TimesLIVE.

"I found two lumps in my left armpit on the 6th of January 2019 whilst performing a breast self-exam, in the same region I received 30 breast cancer radiation therapy treatments, after being re-diagnosed with breast cancer in 2016 and undergoing several chemotherapy treatments."

Briefly.co.za learnt that fortunately, Zoleka found out that the masses were not cancerous, and actually only her body's way of preparing for her baby.

"A breast ultrasound performed by my radiologist revealed that the masses were both non-cancerous and were a result of my breasts preparing themselves to breastfeed."

We're relieved and happy for Zoleka that she is healthy and able to enjoy time with her daughter, Zinzile, as well as her other children.
