Zodwa Wabantu defends protester: "Keep your hands off Gugu!"

Zodwa Wabantu believes that the police should not have arrested Gugu Ncube. The young woman, dressed only in her bra and panties, staged a one-woman protest on the steps of the Union Buildings in Pretoria and was arrested on Wednesday.

Zodwa has spoken out against the arrest, saying there was nothing wrong with Gugu showing her body. She added that Gugu was fighting for her rights.

“Keep your hands off Gugu.”

According to the Daily Sun, the Vosho Queen said that there was no better way to protest. She said a woman showing her body was not disrespectful, especially if it was for a good cause.

Zodwa has said that she will be in Gauteng soon and wants to meet with Gugu and offer her support.

“I want us to be naked together.”

Briefly.co.za reported that Gugu Ncube staged a one-woman protest because she was tired of being ignored. She said that she had been the victim of sexual harassment.

Her case was postponed to 10 April to allow for further investigations.
