Fans loathe Marvel for excluding Black Panther star's name from Avengers poster

Fans are outraged that Marvel had excluded Black Panther star, Danai Gurira's name from the new official Avenger movie poster.

The official trailer for the new Avengers movie was released on Thursday, 14 March 2019, sending the Internet worldwide on a complete meltdown, but some fans were irate that the Black Panther star, Danai Gurira's name was excluded from the official movie poster.

According to TshisaLive, the poster was released along with the trailer on Thursday, and features several characters from the film, including Danai's character, Okoye. At the top of the poster, the names of all the actors shown on the poster was featured, all except Danai's name.

Fans obviously very upset were quick to point out that as one of Marvel's very successful movies thus far, Black Panther should have been given more respect. Others mentioned with Danai as the only Black woman on the cover, her name should not have been ommitted at all.

But Marvel later acknowledged the outcry from fans, and admitted that Danai's name should have been there all along. They quickly rectified the error and released a new poster with Danai's name sitting pretty on top.

But it was too late, and social media timelines had already been flooded with the horrendous error. Here are some of the tweets.
