Earlier today, Eskom announced that stage 2 load shedding would be under way but have since notified the public that the power utility has moved into higher stages.
Briefly.co.za gathered that the rotational load shedding should continue until 11pm tonight, but whether this is certain is unclear.
"Due to the loss of an additional 900 MW from the Mozambique imports, load-shedding will move up to stage 4 from 12 noon," Eskom announced in a statement.
The power utility continued:
"The situation remains tight and volatile and we may have to implement further load shedding should the situation deteriorate. Depending on how quickly we can restore power, this may impact the prognosis for tomorrow and next week."
