BLF leader, Andile Mngxitama, has once again called for former Eskom CEO, Brian Molefe, to return to the power utility.

Mngxitama made the comments while speaking at an event in Midrand on Wednesday.

The BLF leader has said that Molefe - who was implicated in allegations of corruption and mismanagement - is the only one who can save Eskom.

Additionally, Mngxitama said that his party would abide by the IEC's Electoral Code, but also issued a warning to the IEC to treat the BLF fairly, according to The Citizen.

This follows the Freedom Front Plus's recent announcement that they would be trying to have BLF barred from the upcoming elections.

The Freedom Front says that it would be unconstitutional for BLF to contest the elections because, in their view, the party's values do not fit with the Constitution's commitment to non-racialism. As evidence, they cited the fact that only black people are allowed to join BLF.

However, Mngxitama has said that Freedom Front's actions are merely an attempt to block his party from winning seats in Parliament. He also referred to the Freedom Front as "land thieves".
