According to TshisaLive, after an alleged dispute with management, actress Moshidi Motshegwa announced that her contract with The River had not been renewed a month ago.

A concerned and loyal fan, Thanduxolo Mantakana, started a Change.org petition which gathered 370 signatures, with more than half of the number coming in the last week alone.

She claimed that none of them are interested in the behind-the-scene politics. They believe Moshidi is a great actress and her character Malefu was too centered in the soapie to be written off so suddenly.
