Actress and TV host, Khanyi Mbau, is not happy with people calling her the 'original slay queen'. She feels men in power take advantage of young women who are driven to achieve their dreams, creating 'slay queens' themselves.
Khanyi Mbau, popular TV host and actress, recently shared her opinion on The Big Debate and made it clear that she's not proud of her 'original slay queen' legacy.
In fact, Khanyi finds it sad that she is called that because she was just a naive go-getter who was taken advantage of.
"That whole idea of saying that I am the ancestor or the original slay queen is really sad. I come from a generation of go-getters, women that believe that they want to make it."
According to the actress, the problem lies with men in power who abuse their positions to take advantage of young women who are chasing their aspirations.
"Unfortunately we belong to a society where those in power then take advantage of that because they have the resources and they see the hunger in young women such as myself. They then take that and abuse it."
Khanyi added that young women would then allow this abuse of power over them because they are hungry for success, as reported on by TimesLIVE.
Briefly.co.za gathered that women were inspired by what Khanyi said. Check out this tweet by a woman who admires Khanyi:
