A dusty wedding: Groom caught on video throwing sand at bride

A hilarious video has gone viral on social media which shows a groom throwing sand at his new missus while they dance at their reception.

Weddings are filled with traditions - there's the throwing of the bouquet, the speeches and the first dance.

One couple added a new event to their wedding but we're not so sure it will catch on. A video was posted on social media which showed a couple dancing at their reception.

However, the upbeat dance got quite dusty. At first, the groom and bride dance together as their guests cheer them on. Then, the groom goes all 'chicken' on his bride, kicking up sand, giving her a dust bath.

The bottom of the bride's dress was covered in sand, but the groom did not stop there. He picked up a handful of sand and threw it on his wife's white dress.

The video was shared on Twitter by social media user @mwali_m on Sunday.

"Hae hae hae what nonsense is this, is this a thing?" the video was captioned.

Briefly.co.za could not determine where or when the video was filmed, but it sparked quite the reaction on the social media platform.
