Woman forgives brother who shot her 5 times: 'I still love him'

A woman who has been identified as Porché revealed that she has forgiven her brother, who shot her five times in 2016.

On Saturday, Facebook group Happy Africans shared the story of Porché, a young mother who lost her eye after her intoxicated brother opened fire on her.

"In 2016, my brother shot me 5 times and I lost an eye as a result. He was under the influence of alcohol when it happened and it was a bad period in his life."

Porché added she was in the hospital for quite some time recovering from her injuries. Briefly.co.za learned she was in a coma for the first two weeks in the hospital.

Her recovery would go far beyond a hospital room and Porché needed to adapt to life without an eye.

"Losing my eye took a toll on my self image but not anymore, I’m now a more social and more confident."

As for her brother, Porché revealed she had forgiven him and she even argued his case in court.

She said she defended her brother, and his sentence ended up getting cut by more than three decades.

Porché, who has a son named Jordan, said her brother is family and she still loves him. Since sharing her story, Porché has become a beacon of hope for women across the world.

Social media user naa_dei_neequaye wrote: "You inspire me and I respect you for that, not forgetting how beautiful you are."
Another Instagram user, celestial_scary, added: "I'm 13 and I just wanted to let u know that u are very beautiful and flawless."
Social media user, _luminelle_, wrote: "Hey beauty! it's awful what happened to you. I admire you for your strength."
