Doctor John Michell did not just go the extra mile for a clinic's patients, he walked several miles to bring them medicine.
On Monday, Facebook group Clinical team at Zithulele Hospital shared the inspirational story of how Dr Michell walked for an hour carrying 25kg of medicine to help the patients at the clinic.
Briefly.co.za gathered a protest action blocked off roads to the Zithulele Hospital and the medical staff were in need of medication.
This led to Dr John hiking for more than an hour, having to swim through a river, all while carrying 25kg of medication, just to get to the clinic.
"The nurses and patients were surprised and grateful to see him!" part of the post read.
