Elderly couple married for 56 years, die hours apart holding hands

After spending 56 years happily married, US couple, Judy and Will Webb passed away on the same day. The couple, who were both 77 years old, spent their last moments holding hands.

Judy’s health problems began in December last year after contracting an infection. According to People, Judy was placed on a respirator after having an adverse reaction to her medication.

Without explanation, Will soon developed the same problem, and the couple were put in hospice care together.

Will passed away initially and Judy followed a few hours later, Briefly.co.za found.

The couple had been inseparable throughout their marriage.The couple had spent a couple of months in separate hospitals and did not want to be parted again. Their daughter, MaryBeth, strongly believes they did not want to live without each other.

Friends and family of Judy and Will expressed their condolences to MaryBeth. Vivkie Deason-Webb, reminisced about the couple. “I still remember the first night I met them at your house and we played cards,” she wrote. “Such a great pair. I’m so glad they are in a room together. Makes my heart happy and sad, both at the same time.”

Teresa Sturgill gushed that Will and Judy’s romance was “the absolute best love story I had my whole life".
