MP Tasneem Motara shared a heartfelt message after her last sitting of Parliament. Motara expressed her gratitude for the having had the opportunity to learn a great amount and to represent the citizens of Gauteng as a member of the fifth parliament to convene since 1994.

Motara thanked the African National Congress and the Gauteng government, proudly enthusing, “ I’ve grown, I’ve learnt, I did my best.”

The passionate politician has big plans on the horizon and is joining the Gauteng Provincial Legislature, Briefly.co.za discovered.

She says the top three proudest moments of her time in Parliament were killing it at the 2016 State of the Nation Address, witnessing the completion of the mixed-use development, Cornubia City, in KwaZulu-Natal and the Limpopo intervention process.

Motara inspired South Africans with her easy-going, thoughtful and progressive approach to politics and many commented that she will be missed. Chief Whip of The United Democratic Movement's Nqabayomzi Kwankwa‏ responded, saying that it had been an absolute pleasure working with the MP.
