Ngubo expects all the municipality's councillors to do their jobs as per their oaths.
Sizwe Mchunu, Claudette Chetty, Naleni Atwaru and Renesha Jugmohan all decided to change teams as South Africa gets ready for the elections in May, IOL News reported.
Briefly.co.za learnt that Sibongiseni Majola, DA caucus leader, has confirmed the resignations of the now former members.
There was an email in which the acting city manager was also informed about the developments.
Ngubo apparently first learned about these defections through social media and the press; her office was later informed of the development. She says that life goes on, and that which must be attended to, will be.
It is business as usual in the council.
The rules of the Electoral Commission of South Africa indicates that as soon as any resignations are confirmed, a by-election could be held within 90 days after vacancies were declared.
