Mmamathe Makhekhe-Mokhuane became a household name in 2018 following her ludicrous televised interview last year.
Briefly.co.za reported that the SARS IT chief conducted an interview to ease public concerns over the reported R1 billion e-filing system upgrade.
The interview caused more harm than good as Makhekhe-Mokhuane’s bumbling efforts were ridiculed.
Makhekhe-Mokhuane was called to testify at the Nugent Inquiry as well, but failed to cover herself in glory once again.
However, it seems the IT head mastered the art of salary negotiation.
Upon her appointment, she negotiated a whopping 42% salary increase for her role.
Makhekhe-Mokhuane was allegedly placed on discretionary leave by SARS in October.
Her legal team are still awaiting feedback from SARS regarding her employment status, but that hasn’t stopped the money from rolling in.
The South African reported that Makhekhe-Mokhuane’s bank balance is still smiling with earnings of approximately R1.39 million since October.
