A brave woman, Thembi Maphanga inspired South Africans with her story about persevering through hardships and overcoming adversity.
Thembi took to social media and wrote about how she lost more loved one one’s than one should have to experience but ultimately rose above the pain and is continuously trying to succeed.
Themba shared that when she was 18 years old, her father passed away and her mother followed a year later.
When she was thirty years old, her son died and three years after that, the father of her daughter burnt her and killed her child. Amidst all this she also lost her job, Briefly.co.za found.
“Yes i was burnt by My baby Daddy, he Killed My Daughter and he took away my career, But above all i choose to rise”
She writes, motivating others who are experiencing problems in their lives.
She wrote, “I remember when I will sit in a restaurant and people next to my table start moving away. It's been a long journey.”
Social media users showed their support for Thembi and her efforts to improve the lives of others. Many felt inspired to appreciate what they have and to also believe that their problems can be overcome.
Maphanga previously shared her story of how she had fought with the father of her then two-year-old daughter in public. Angry because of the attention they got in public, the man ended up setting her and their daughter on fire before fleeing.
Maphanga said she had to throw herself through a window and managed to get her little girl out as well but she unfortunately did not survive. The mom and daughter were rushed to the Johannesburg Hospital, where she laid in a coma for several months.
