In Mzansi, when children of colour can’t speak their native language or have an accent that is too westernised, it is not taken lightly. Pearl Thusi’s daughter, Thando, was recently heard talking with an American accent in a clip on social media and the reaction from fans was totally unexpected.

Pearl is a wonder-woman and a fantastic mother. As a black female, she has done the most to represent Mzansi.

Briefly.co.za knows that Pearl feels strongly about embracing who she is and owning her ‘blackness’. So the fact that her daughter is so westernised may come as a bit of a shock.
