A social media user took to his Twitter handle to share that he graduated with a PhD from the University of KwaZulu-Natal on Monday.
On Monday, 1 April, people played jokes on each other to mark the annual April Fools' Day. However, while some were making jokes, Dr Zack Khambule obtained his PhD.
Taking to Twitter, Khambule shared photos of himself on his graduation day along with an inspiring message.
"I know it’s April Fools', but I ain’t fooling you, such beautiful things really do happen. Today I graduated with my PhD," he captioned the post.
Briefly.co.za gathered that according to a social media post by Njabulo, who goes by the Twitter handle @N_jayMaz, Khambule focussed his studies on the role of sub-national state institutions in economic development.
"#UKZNGRADWEEK starting off on a huge bang as always. This time the center of the show is a brilliant mind from Stanger who has received his PhD in Developmental Studies focusing on the role of sub national state institutions in economic development. Sizwe sonke, Dr @Zack_Khambule," Njabulo wrote.
South Africans were inspired by the PhD graduate's achievement and they flooded his comment section with congratulation messages.
