South Africans were in awe of a graduate who performed a Zulu dance on stage before accepting her degree. Many felt immensely proud of her achievement and were moved by the positive energy she brought to the ceremony.

South Africans appreciated the fact people are given more space to be expressive at graduation ceremonies these days in comparison to the past when people hung firmly onto the sombre traditions of the occasion. Many users shared that they would have liked to danced at their graduation back in the day.

Other users appreciated University of KwaZulu-Natal and felt that the institution has cultivated a space which is more open to personal expression and less rigid structures than other universities.

One Twitter user, Buyisile, suggested UKZN graduations should be broadcast on television because they are entertaining.
