Mi Casa rallies to raise funds for those affected by Cyclone Idai

- The group Mi Casa is asking for your help to raise funds for Cyclone Idai victims

- The cyclone hit home for frontman, J'Something, as friends and family of his have been affected

- The group started a fund and aims to raise R500 000

Local music group, Mi Casa, has reached out to the people of Mzansi, asking them to help them help those who have been affected by the devastating Cyclone Idai.

Cyclone Idai hit the coasts of Mozambique, Zimbabwe and Malawi last month. It has left millions of people stranded and has taken the lives of over 800 people. The storm lasted close to three weeks and caused irreparable damage.

Briefly.co.za learnt that the cyclone became a personal matter to the group when friends and family members of Mi Casa’s front man, J’Something, were affected.

Mi Casa has launched a crowdfunding initiative to raise funds for those affected. Mi Casa aims to raise R500 000. Since Friday last week, they had already raised almost R40 000.

Before launching the funding initiative, Mi Casa had already donated the fee that they received for their gig at the Moments of Jazz Festival in Maputo to The Gift of the Givers Foundation.
