Winnie Mashaba has been in the gospel music world for 20 years, and she's been doing her utmost to succeed. As she grew as an artist her music grew too, and she's been adored as a singer for years. Winnie also recently celebrated her 38th birthday.
After 20 years in the industry, Winnie Mashaba can rest assured that she's a true gospel star. She's been giving fans emotional and touching music that they love throughout her career, and now she's reached an awesome milestone.
During her 20 years in music, Winnie has experienced many ups and downs and even received criticism for her music choices.
"People were saying I'm shying away from the old Winnie. Why are you now performing live and using instruments?"
Despite this, Winnie stayed true to who she is and kept growing as an artist. SowetanLIVE reports that the gospel star has teamed up with various gospel artists over the years, helping her grow.
Briefly.co.za gathered that Winnie does get complimented on her looks often. There are even jokes that she could have been a slay queen in a previous life.
"I can still be beautiful and encourage other women to be beautiful. If I wear my doek and cover up, it's when I go to the house of the Lord. But in my spare time I'm just myself."
Winnie says that she's a loyal member of ZCC, but she's not their spokesperson.
"I will never be a spokesperson of the church. It's my foundation. They have taught me to respect other churches and people. I'm just a churchgoer like any other person. "
Congratulations to Winnie for staying true to who she is and carving out a career she can be proud of.
