Wanderers Stadium has a new announcer, and it's none other than our girl, Poppy Ntshongwana. She's the first-ever female announcer at the stadium and she's very excited about the historic new opportunity.
Poppy Ntshongwana is starting a new job, and it's one that is making history. She's going to be the very first-ever female stadium announcer for Wanderers Stadium.
Poppy is super excited and proud to be part of this new event, which was announced as Wanderers gets ready for the CSA T20 campaign that is set to start on 5 April, as reported on by Sport24.
The radio personality will have to awaken the sporty spirits of those present to make their experience even better.
YouthVillage reported that Poppy will be the voice of the Wanderers this whole season.
Briefly.co.za gathered that the 35-year-old was in disbelief after receiving the phone call with the good news.
"Wow, I am so excited I can't quite believe it! It is a big deal for me: I would like to say that it's an absolute honour and I am excited for the challenge.
"So I am super excited and delighted to be on board to see how it all unfolds. Thank you Lions for the opportunity!"
The Marketing and Communications Manager for Central Gauteng Lions and Highveld Lions, Wanele Mngomezulu, says they are happy with their choice.
"You can't help but love Poppy - she inspires, ignites and is informed of the game: she will be our asset that is for sure. Present for this season's home games, we have contracted Poppy to be our stadium voice: a warm, friendly character whom I believe is a super signing for us."
Congratulations to Poppy for bagging the honour of being the first female announcer at Wanderers!
