Duarte accused the eNCA of being DA supporters and that it had been evident in the way that Maseko conducted himself during the interview:

“And you don’t defend freedom of speech because your particular TV station has decided the direction it will go on as it did in 2016 you followed the DA slogan of ‘vote for change’."

Briefly.co.za reported earlier today that Duarte had become enraged when questioned on the integrity of the ANC's candidates list, which had caused a stir when it revealed individuals implicated in corruption had made the cut.

The ANC has responded to the incident, releasing a statement that it noted the 'one-sided' and 'biased' article presented by the eNCA.

The statement reads that Duarte had indicated at the beginning of the briefing that she would only be reading from a media statement and that any questions should be directed to the ANC spokesman.

According to The Citizen, the ANC has condemned the 'unacceptable' and 'unprofessional' outburst from Maseko.
