Despite his success in the music industry as of late, SA rapper, K.O, took to social media to share the news of his battle with depression over the years with his followers.
K.O shared a video clip on his social media platform, Instagram, and talked about his second album, SR2, and his upcoming album, Vokals. He already dropped a very popular single from the album already called Supa Dupa.
He claims he was in a dark place when he made SR2, but decided to focus on happiness for his next album, hence his caption, "Happiness is a choice" on his Instagram post.
The rapper said: "Nothing ever works out if your heart is not in a happy space, let me tell you why, looking at the Cashtime debacle for instance and me being subjected to public opinion. Those are all the things that influenced me when I was working on my second album and it unfortunately diverted me into a space of depression and listening to that album now, I can actually hear that guy was in a dark place."
And his happiness now is bursting through his new music. Three weeks ago, Briefly.co.za reported that K.O’s new single, Supa Dupa, has been making waves. The song, together with the visuals, has driven the people of Mzansi insane. The music video has reached over 100 000 views on YouTube.
Everyone is loving the new song and even fellow rappers have commented on how great the track is. The song is a lead single from K.O's upcoming album, Vokals. It's well on its way to earning gold status and over a million views.
Yesterday, Briefly.co.za also reported that K.O had a fantastic time when he performed at the Cape Town Shimmy Beach Club last weekend, and so did his fans.
They're still recovering from the 'dope' show that K.O put on, and he definitely lived up to his reputation of lit performances.
The rapper shared snaps from the performance on Sunday, 31 March, and it's obvious that the crowd had the greatest time.
