Hip hip hooray: Birthday boy Tbo Touch's rise to fame and success

Tbo Touch celebrates his 38th birthday today. The media mogul has come far in the South African entertainment industry and his success story is one to celebrate on this special day.

Thabo Molefe was born in Sharpeville in 1981 and raised by his grandparents. He developed an entrepreneurial spirit very early in his life and founded the Entrepreneurs Club in High School. He received an award in Business Skills from First National Bank at General Smuts High School. He relocated to America in 1997 and studied in New York.

He was adopted by the Jones Family. He still considers Bishop Robert and Majorie Jones his parents.

In 2002, he worked at Def Jam Records as an intern under the leadership of Kevin Liles, which was later passed on to Jay-Z . In April 2004, he managed to seal the deal to broadcast live on MetroFM from New York City every Saturday between 8pm and 9pm.

He became the first radio and TV personality to host two live shows, one one TV and one radio show in two different studios, both running simultaneously on Friday night on SABC 1, Metro FM and TouchCentral.

He has gone on to do amazing work under his Touch company and will continue to show us more of what he can do.
