A disturbing video showing a small child being mercilessly beaten while being forced to clean up her own vomit has sent shockwaves through South Africa.

Briefly.co.za reported earlier that the video has been going viral on social media, depicting a teacher lowering the pants of a small girl in order to beat her bare bottom while the child is cleaning a table.

Gauteng Education MEC Panyaza Lesufi took to social media to call on the Department of Education to 'hunt' down the creche.

Lesufi commented that the video had disgusted him to the extent that he could not even bring himself to watch it finished.

The MEC has joined the scores of people calling for justice, saying that he is ready to 'pounce' on the abuser once more information becomes available.
